It was another beautiful morning here in the Hudson Valley for hiking! When I started at 5:50 am, it was a pretty chilly 52 degrees with clear skies. What a great day to be out in the woods! Today’s hike was a decent one. I did my favorite Red Trail, came back around and then figured I would also do the Green Trail as well. Excellent hiking!
Since I am having some issues downloading pictures, today’s post will be photo free!!!

Beautiful reminder of the power within & around. Breathing anchors & nature reconnects. Simple yet so profound. Thank you for sharing. 🍃

Yes! Being out as early as I am I don’t see many people and this always the batteries to recharge and to really focus on my surroundings. It has been a great summer for hiking!

What a summer! Hiking bonanza I bet. Wonderful respite from the usual humidity. Hoping fall weather treats us well too. 🍂

I’m so impressed with your mileage, your tenacity and your love of hiking. I need to walk more for my health and my health stops me from walking more. That’s just a statement. I get advice from everyone and their pets. I just wanted to tell you how much I admire you.

Thank you very much! You know that I have had my share of health issues the last two and half years. The only advice I will give you is this-you just have to put one foot in front of the other (and soon you’ll be walking out the door…) This is of course unless your issues are leg or mobility related….If you had told me two years ago that I would been able to do this much hiking in a summer I liteally would have laughed at you! It sucks at first but now it really is a blessing to get out into the woods as much as i do.

I’ll keep that in mind. What do you do during the winter? I have a friend who uses snowshoes but that’s more for flat surface walking in snow (obviously).

As long as there is no snow on the ground I still head out as often as I can. WIth my daughter playing hockey adn the days getting shorter, it makes that difficult. I have a stationary bike that I put in front of the television and I ride for 45 minutes. I also won’t go out in extremely cold conditions. When I was younger, yes, but now, not a chance!
