Watching from afar
Not seen or heard, still hoping
Loves grip now a noose
Watching from afar
Not seen or heard, still hoping
Loves grip now a noose
Eyes wide, can I see?
Open mind exposing love
Always out of reach
Reflecting on self,
Mirror sees all, peers inside
Exposing the truth.
Summers grip fading
Swirling winds help cool the night
Winters wrath to come
“The leaves fall, the wind blows, and the farm country slowly changes from the summer cottons into its winter wools.”
― Henry Beston
Leaves, lives, loves changing
Dark days, darker nights await
Autumns light prevails
“After a storm comes a calm.”
-Matthew Henry
Last night we had some pretty severe storms pass through our area and I thought of this:
Summer storms the norm
flashing streaks awaken me
fading through the night.
Peace!
A Haiku to celebrate the arrival of August:
The death of summer
dropping orange rays like rain
change is upon us
I could see the black rain clouds approaching from the northwest and I just sat and waited. Although people tend not to like rain, during the summer I always welcome it. Today, when the rain began, it was a sweltering 94 degrees. As it pushed through, the temperature dropped to a bearable and breathable 74 degrees. It goes without saying that we can always use the rain.
Creeping up slowly
Menacing dark clouds pour down
Welcome liquid life
The other day we added this adorable 5 month old kitten to our family. As with our dog Jase, we rescued him from the SPCA in Briarcliff. Seeing Jase’s reaction to the introduction of Sirius into the dynamics of our household has been more than a little comical and it inspired this Haiku:
Cute Kitten Comes Home
Jealous Jiggler Is Upset
Whoa is me says he
