“The eye sees a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination awake.”

This photo was taken just before the one yesterday.

The call I’ve been dreading came in directly at ten.
I knew it was due, I just didn’t know when.
The number I saw, I knew it to well,
The sweat started to pour, I wanted to yell.
My mind started swimming, I couldn’t see straight,
Do I answer the call or should I just wait?
It rang and it rang and I just let it go,
The voice mail will take it, just go with the flow.
So I sat and I waited to hear that familiar low beep,
It’s going to tell me the message it did keep.
I picked up the cell and raised it to listen,
The sweat on my face continued to glisten.
My family they saw, the look on my face,
Did somebody die, was I in the wrong place?
The message then played and my worst fears came true.
It was the call to return, and that means we’re screwed.
So do what you can, and don’t waste your time,
You could just be sitting here, attempting to rhyme.
