About half way through our recent black out, I took a selfie of myself as I huddled in my sleeping bag trying to keep warm. It was about 10 pm and the temperature in my bedroom was hovering around 40 degrees.
The next day I sent the picture to a colleague and he responded with, “I see cold people.” As much as I would like to take credit for what I think is a pretty humorous comment, I can’t.

“I see cold people”
You have a funny friend.

We went to a hotel when we could see our breath. Did you get power back on yet? We are seriously considering moving to northeastern Maine in a few years when we retire. This last horror of power outages have put a damper on those discussions. Although, if we owned instead of renting, we could get a generator or put in a wood-burning stove, or both.

The power has been back on since Friday. 6 days, 21 hours and 15 minutes with no power.

Oh and you’ve redefined the concept of selfie.

I’m not sure that is a good thing…I was actually in my sleeping bag when I took that. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
