“From the shadow of domes in the city of domes,
A snowflake, a blizzard of one, weightless, entered your room
And made its way to the arm of the chair where you, looking up
From your book, saw it the moment it landed. That’s all
There was to it.”-Mark Strand
“The blizzard doesn’t last forever; it just seems so.”-Ray Bradbury
In most of the snowstorms that we get you always have an accumulation of snow on the branches. With this storm, no such evidence exists. The winds last night were crazy!!! Anyway, I took a couple of B & W photos of my backyard this morning after about 15 or so inches of snow.
My thoughts wandered to you and your snow, last night. That is a lot of snow for one falling.
Happy you made it through, unharmed.
Beautiful pictures and how creative and clever to shoot B & W.
When living in Michigan, i often thought the snow scenes looked so B & W… but never thought to photograph as such. Duh! 😀 ren

Thank you! Thankfully we didn’t lose power and that is always a positive. I have always loved black and white photos and am making a conscious decision to shoot more in B & W.

I recently heard that Michigan lost power to a million homes. My heart went out to them. This is not the time of year to be without power.
It is amazing how B & W can captivate a whole different essence to a photo.
I look forward to your images.

We didn’t even get enough of a flurry to get a picture of snow.
