Where Do We Go When We Sleep?

SA-software

I have asked myself the question, “Where do we go when we sleep?” many times over the course of my life.  Whether it’s a nap, an hour or two, or a full blown night of sleep, anyone can ride that cosmic bus to wherever they want a long as they are in the required state of REM. I know in my case, over the last 52 years, I have been to magnificent places. Places that have scared me, made me laugh and made me cry. Places that, yes, you can only dream about.

Wow..That is an excellent observation. They really don’t have any frame of reference or experiences to draw from so the question is valid. Even though we have life experiences, couldnn’t we also be dreaming of past lives as well?

I LOVE this. Now I’m going to write a comment longer than your post, lol. When I was little I had a recurring nightmare caused by the stress of my home. Like from when I was 4 until some point in elementary school. These are not uncommon and I get why people have recurring nightmares.

But frequently, over the last 50 years or so, dreams have occurred in the same place. Different actions, activities, people, but the same location. I’ve often wondered if there really are different planes of existence. Or, as Einstein wrote (I think it was Einstein) is time fluid and perhaps these are events that have yet to happen to us, or are happening to us in a parallel time? Does this place really exist or is it just a product of my imagination?

Have you ever thought this way? Has this ever happened to you?
    I love this post.

Yes!!! I have had dreams over the years where I go back to boot camp at Parris Island. If it is happening in a parallel time, I would love to spend some time there. Because I have very strange dreams that I always remember! I had a dream the other night that a horse was licking my face and as I woke up all I saw was my dogs tongue runniing up my nose. Yikes….

That last dream definitely has a gross quality to it. But Parris Island was such a defining, life changing place for you, it’s no surprise that it comes back to you over and over. You should write an essay about your time there.
